Character Design (WIP): Ched

The work in progress is still in progress, if you remember the previous version. If not, that's okay too. So I'd say 45% are done. And as you may have guess, this is what I've been working on today. Trying not to forget the pictures that I started once. This is a guy from Skeklin.

Skeglin. I added a bit more dirt
He is not a bad guy, but can be an asshole, I mean he is not a saint at all. And I call him Ched Khan. A full name, yes. Apart from the other WIP's lying around and waiting for me to finish them, I want to show you (and also myself) more of Ched's world.
To be continued...

Skeglin – Environment Design –

This took me a while for all the little details. This is a place for a story I have in mind (it's just in my mind and only there yet) and it's called Skeglin as you probably seen in the title. It's a place in the future, where the "worthless" people live. I hope you can make yourself an imagination of this place, when seeing this picture. If anybody is interested, no photo textures in here, I mostly try not to use them.

Yet unknown dinosaur species

My dinosaur design is done and I am working on the next thing. Wich is not a dinosaur. Not to forget about unfinished things lying around.
Anyway I was really having fun with this creature concept and may consider more creatures in the future. The secret next one though, will be something different. Not telling anything more now, since I don't know wich will be done first...

Designing Dinosaurs (Video)

Yay, I did a video! A "real" one, with audio commentary. Yes, I am talking >_> Had to put the file's volume up because I am talking quitly as it seems. Anyway I hope you enjoy. And if you do, please like, share and subscribe on YouTube!

Dinosaur in progress

Hello, here I am again after the weekend and it goes on with dinosaurs!
On the weekend I was not lazy, I worked on a new YouTube video, wich I would like to call my first "real" one, with audio commentary. Hooray! So that'll be coming soon. Actually I also wanted to record the dinosaur painting process, but I failed. It was just a stupid mistake about not capturing the whole window. So that is really useless, I apologize for that. Next time I know better, video editing needs practice too.
Anyway today it's only this work in progress.

Dinosaur design sketches

So to say creature design. I am still designing my own dinosaur and those two coloured guys are my favourites. I will take one of them (I am pretty sure wich one it'll be) for a polished piece. Drawing them was really fun and I recorded the process, wich will hopefully be available to watch on YouTube soon. If I do everything right, because I am having a bit trouble with the video formats and hope the YouTube editor can fix it.

Dinosaur sketches!

Some sketches from "real" dinosaurs and then went on to start my own dinosaur design. Because I make my own. Ha!
My first tries from to day can be seen in the picture below. As a kid I loved dinos and collected magazines about them. Unfortunately I forgot a lot of what I was reading about them in these magazines.
It's for sure that I will design a plant eating dinosaur. The dangerous ones are so overrated and they'd for sure lose the cuteness-battle.
By the way my favourite plant eater is the Paraphylosaurus.

Ribbit. Animal and creature sketches

Ribbit. Ribbit.
I mean hi!
Yes, today I learned that frogs and toads say "riddit" unlike the german toads that say "quak" just like dugs.
So today some funny sketches. This is from my new sketchbook, the first three pages. The above sketch was the first one, some days ago, don't remember when exactly it was.
Then this was today based on a photo where a mouse sits on a toad.

Then I asked a friend what the english speaking toads say and when he told me it's "ribbit", I just had to draw a rabbit-toad wich would be called "ribbit", that's the sketch on the bottom.

Next you can expect dinosaurs from me!

The landing

Here I am again, with another spaceship. It's quite colorful, isn't it? Next time I want to do something with a character again. The background was filled a little more on the left top corner, but it seemed too much to make the ship come out so I simplified it a bit. Can't tell how long it took. I worked on it over three days, but not within the same amount of time each day. Today I spent pretty long with it. I try to work on my art for 6 hours a day, but it doesn't always work out, since I have other duties and some of them coming unexpectedly. Sometimes I get to work 2 hours, sometimes 4, sometimes all day long. Like today.

A mermaid tattoo

Another tattoo drawing, again not for me, I'd probably not gonna get (half)naked women (or mermaids) tattooed. I spent quite a lot of time with this, especially with the outlines and particularly with the hair. I hope the guy I made it for will like it, at least what I do know is that he likes long and dark hair on women.

Meet artists beyond borders

Cover image by toe

Good morning, something else this time. It is the second gallery for the artists beyond borders project that started earlier this year. It's a project started by toe on Google+ who had the great idea to start a topic like about every season, where all artists can join in and everybody does her or his own interpretation. Since I liked the idea a lot I jumped in right from the start and hope to be part of it for somewhat longer time.
The new gallery is up and the topic this time was "sound".
You can find the project's website here and scroll through the artworks submitted.

Riverside, the best place to relax

Hey ho, here I am again after a lazy weekend. I started this one yesterday but changed half of the whole composition today. Now it's alright and I hope you enjoy.
I was obviously thinking about a cozy place where one would like to spend their vacation at. As often I also imagined a futuristic city, it doesn't look too sci-fi though, in my mind it is. In the first composition I also planned a big spaceship flying above in the sky but after I changed the composition, it seemed too much and I just screwed it.
